The EPC has now been completed so we are legal to sell
Afternoon folks
Another reasonable day here only a light shower for about 2 minutes.
The shark had his first swim in the pool and gathered up the mess, Pumps and fings all put back in the pump room and water treated. Ran pump for a few hours to stir things up while topping it up, test again in the morning see how balanced things are and then wait for it to get to a swimable temp, maybe early next week if the sun stays in front of the clouds a bit more. We would normally have it open by now but the weather last 2 weeks have been May weather so would have been a waste of time and electrickery.
The bloody grass is gonna need another cut, normally the last cut is early June, Its stops growing and turns to yellow grass for a few months normally.
Next job on the list is paint some facias and new guttering on the summer kitchen, I am actually looking forward to a job that doesn't involve doing work on my knees and forever bending over, Just standing on a little step up to reach and nothing heavier than a screwdriver will suit this body for a day or 2

Wondered if it might be "emissions" as they have summat like that in France.
Did they shut all your doors and winders then stick a sheet up in your front door and apply either a Hoover or a compressor to it to see how much it leaked?
I have heard of some sort of test like that.

.... that I am making waves in local council circles over a planning application in my street.
Sneaky bastard has opened a cafe in a residential house in advance of a planning decision.
Asked the head of governance why there were no "Red Notices" posted and why the council hasn't closed him down?
Could it be because palms have been greased or because he is a furriner playing the "race card"?
Anyways I have had a local councillor (who is also opposed) call on me to tell me he is on the case too.
Last leader of the council got booted out after an independent corruption enquiry.

Its all about Energy Performance these days.
And as for buy back.
Well it works like this. We give a builder Our money to build a huge Hotel/Flats whatever. we basically own a room /flat. he dont borrow money from a bank at stupid % and would end up keeping some for himself, But he also tells us that in 5yrs he promises to buy it back at xxx price up front. So in the 5 years we have received a decent return in the rental (as its a %of investment) and now we can cash in our money with a heath increase in the initial investment (yes more than leaving it in a bank).
But of course it means that we need to make a choice, do we want the hassle of getting another, or leave it, or get another private house to rent.
cos I do enjoy being a slum landlord. But I hate having to make a decsion on spending more money than the price of a beerJ

.... I have a question for really clever Arduino programmers on here (It is my "How-Do-I-Know" question I guess).
I would very much like to make a "cheap" 6-Degrees of freedom position recorder using an Arduino and whatever "shields" it would need.
The purpose is to make a little device that can measure and record the "attitude" of a trike as it travels (Date & time stamped files?) so as you turn left/right and or go up down hills and the bike/trike's axis changes the degree of tilt, speed etc. is recorded. Possible?

Its a 1930's solid brick walled house with 8' 6" ceilings.
I have all windows Double Glazed and 8" of loft insulation as well as 3" of sealed-cell under tile insulation.
Not much more I can do AFAIK. Energy costs are £164/Month.
