been werkin on my 300 tdi disco 2day an found pitting in the swivel ball,:confused: :eek:
will this fail an mot?
and what sort of a job is it to change?

Depends on yer tester, an how badly the swivel seal is leaking. If you want to buy yerself a bit of time drain any oil out of the swivels and refill em with CV joint grease. You degrease the outsides of the swivels. It int that bad a job to replace the swivels an you don't need any special tools or owt.

well it ain't leaking but the pitting is pretty bad and its only on the top about two inch long by about half to an inch wide an about 1mm or less deep,
make sence?
 
Somebody else would be better qualified on the MOT bit, as far as I know it's when their leaking that the trouble starts.[/quote]



ha ha might not be leakin coz there maybe no greese in there:rolleyes:
the bloke who had it b4 me put 1shot in it so i haven't touched it since i got it,
think i'll clean it up an send it for the mot but thats not till end of july.
