A mate of a mate has what he thinks is a Rover V8 engine and he cannot identify it.
It is allegedly from a Sherpa van.

I pointed him at the Rimmer Bro's list of serials for Rover V8's but the bloke came back with.....

"No, still haven't found it.
The numbers for the Sherpa at the end of Rimmer bros list begin with 47G, mine is 28G."
Does anyone know which engines had the 28 prefix please?

28 pre suffix is a carb'd 8.13:1cr RV8 so being low comp i'd say it' Sherpa fitment..

25G00416 is a common Sherpa fitment unit...

gutless, but sounds good

That's what we had, bought from auction for £500, still had the metalwork on the windscreen and the jam sandwich stripes ..
