To all current members,

My Range Rover , 2000 model year, 4.6 L P38 is immobilized and the default key code is not resetting.
Can anyone suggest a mechanic in Northwest PA in order to permanently disable the immobliizer ?
And, the BeCM was recently replaced, does this device have a device code ? Where would it be located ??
Anyone in the triangle of Cleveland - Pittsburgh - Buffalo.

Is there a message on the dash? Were the door locks all working as should and the tailgate?

You could check the Landyzone International Rescue Map and see if there is anyone near you. We have members in the States but not so many.

If that number at the end is your phone number then I would delete it ASAP. Never post up personal information on the internet unless you want to be spammed or a victim of identity theft.

Disabling immobiliser is easy if you can find someone with a Nanocom. It is done in BECM diagnostic mode. With ignition off connect Nanocom, go to BECM, after a few seconds BECM diagnostic mode message will appear on dash message centre, go to settings and disable immobiliser then write setting. Switch ignition on and the immobilised message should have gone. Switch Nanocom off and start engine.

Yes, I nderstand that method, looking to buy used Nanocom. Is my 2000 Model considered GEMS or the previous generation ? Which Nanocom do I need ?

2000 more likely to be Thor with banana shaped things on top of engine.
I would suggest nanocom evolution
GEMS is the older V8

All Nanocoms for the P38 are the same, just need the right activation codes for your year of car and engine as far as I know.
 
MY2000 is most likely a Thor Motronic. Here is a picture of the Thor version for you to compare against yours.

@pdfflyer Before I got my Nanocom I got locked out "Engine Disabled" messages on dash etc. etc.
The Doorlock switches were fubar'd so I could not enter the EKA code (even though I had it).
Strangely, what worked for me was to remove the battery connection with the key in the ignition at position 2 and reconnect the battery.
This re-synched the fob with the car and it started and the fob then worked fine. I have both fob's #1 and #2 (originals) but to get both to work I have found that you have to clear RF memory (most recent stored rolling codes) with your Nanocom.
However, this approach has NOT worked for everyone (I was maybe "Lucky").

@pdfflyer this is the one you need https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/shop/product/ncom07 I selected in USD but not sure if you need to pay TAX etc, they come from Cyprus but this is the most user friendly version. Delivery is quick in Europe not sure International but should be ok and worth their money. Good luck. Just check you have the mototronic version as above, when you receive it, set up an account online and they give you the unlock codes to enter in then before you can use then you can have fun! You can re-sell this and would near enough get your money back.

Urgh - pity I'm not still out in the states... I could have come and had a look in person, and I've got a friend in PA aswell I would have visited at the same time! Stupid virus!

Maybe I should look at doing a USA P38 trip at some point as there's a guy in CT aswell with a couple of P38's that I'd like to catch up with the next time I'm over....
