Finally got my new starter today, fitted and it starts first time, But my bast!!!rd noise is back. But there's also another thing that's Bugging me. The key only turns once in the Barrel as you can see on Vid, In pic it starts at number 1 but only goes to 2 then it starts , back to number 1 to stop. I can turn further whilst it is started but nothing happens. Im sure this is not normal, or am I missing something. ??

constant 12v feed to the trigger wire for solenoid, which is why the last starting position on the switch is sprung loaded so as to ensure stater cant stay engaged
Right better get it sorted before I f!!!k this one. will it be the wires going in to Ignition Barrel ?

yes,the red/white starter trigger wire has to be only live at the last point of key turn so its not live when you let go of key and it returns to normal ignition on ,with brown connected position 1 should become live its auxillaries ie radio, next position 2 1 stays live and white ignition live becomes live too position 3 should be heater plugs then further twist red/white starter

I'm sure I've got some Pics . will find them in a bit. Trust me to wire the dam thing up wrong.

for some reason your last vid seemed much more noticeably like a spinning starter
Found a couple of pics of old barrel , Im sure I wired new one up the same, but then again knowing me maybe not. Would getting these wires in the right places sort t it out ?

should do if switch is good start of with just big brown battery live fitted, then turn key through the positions testing for which becomes live with a volt tester etc the white wire (ignition live)should be position 2,litle white wire onlylive when key held fully against the spring

OK will try and find a wiring diagram. and have a bit play about with it tomorrow, The Barrel is Brand New so should be ok, unless its faulty.

Can you notice a bare spade in 2 of the pics. I found the red and white wire in the dash and connected it to this bare spade, as I read somewhere that should be there.

red/white should be trigger wire making the thin white and black wire auxillary feed ie should be at position 1,which is where your red /white actually is so sounds like wires are mixed up
