Can I use the same ign switched live to power up a few different relays.
I have heated/ power seats and also want work lights and maybe some other bits and pieces all switched at th dash but the relays will be beside an extra fuse board by the battery.
 
I guess, technically, you should work out how many amps (milliamps?) The relays need to trigger, add them all together and work out if the circuit can handle it?
 
Why not take all relay switching lives from the battery (fused) via a bus and have that energised with a relay from ignition live? Keep it all in the battery box .That's how I would do it. Keeps it simple and safe.

That's a good way, and similar to what I was trying to say. One wire brought from fuse box, maybe cig lighter, down to extra fuse box area then split to relays. Am I right in saying that once the relay is triggered, it stops drawing from ign.live or does it need the constant live? If so, I could in theory have multiple relays off the same ign.live.

It needs a constant live, but I wouldn't use it for multiple relays, I would have it switching one relay for a battery live which in turn powers up multiple relays.
 
Something like this, main relay after battery, busbar after or you could use a fuse box instead of the bus with one live in, you will need individual fuses anyway, that would probably be better, individual relays after the fusebox/busbar to power the accessories, this way the accessories circuits only come live when the ignition is live, you could fit some sort of timer relay if you dont want power drained from starting but some ignition switches do this anyway, fit a big fuse between battery and first relay.

You could just feed the relay triggers for each accessory with ignition live but you would have to be sure it could handle the amps, relays dont pull a lot of amps on the triggers.
 
Having tested the relays on mine, they draw around 70 milliamps to activate them so the load on the exciter circuit is pretty low. If you had 10 of them in parallel it would only be 0.7 of an amp, for example.

Funny u saying that as I done just that , fitted a fuse right by the aux battery, then relay , fuse box along with the ign trigger wire , done that so the gauge panel would turn off when the ign was turned off

done the wiring as per pic, I just replaced the display with a fuse box

also fitted an aux socket

see u can buy combined relay / fuse boxes

I just fitted the extra fuse box off my aux battery for the gauges, dashcam etc

surprising how many different types of fuse / relay boxes there are available online

Also going to add some solar later on , have the T max split charge system but tempted to remove that and use a dual solar controller

Always find it interesting and if u don’t mind sharing some piccies plse when u get round to it

12v power outlets, make sure your fuse box/relay box can handle the amps that they can, in fact I would over spec the fuse/relay box with power outlets, you never know what you might be plugging into them.
 
@nobber , could yo do me a favour and sketch me how to wire up multiple 4 pin led switches. They have + top and bottom/ in out on the left hand side and _ top and bottom on the right. I just want to link up the switches so the leds work when switched on .

Not sure what they are fella, on/off switches, led lit when on? That should only be three pin, are they a two or three way switch?

Two way on off. Led comes on when on. It's the earth I dont understand. Live is switched vertically which lights led. Ground is on the other side. I presumed as there are two pins, it would be one in and one out to the next switch. This doesn't work and I have to have in and out on the one tab. Not sure what the other one is for or how to use it. Trying to have one good ground close to switch or brought back to battery rather than one for each switch. Cant find anything similar on web and search is broke.
