What size gun and what size nut?

Not too sure what size gun, my wife bought me the combination set last Christmas, it included the impact wrench and a drill with batteries and tough carry case. It won't break a standard wheel nut and after I've used it to replace a wheel nut, I have to give the nut a half of a turn with with my torque wrench.

I would hazard a guess its the 3/8 version, have you tried a little oil on the threads? makes the world of difference and is std practice on truck wheel nuts.
I always oil or grease my wheel bolts/nuts and if alloy wheels the hug spigot as well to stop the wheel welding itself to the hub.

Oh, I see what you mean about the size now, it fits standard sockets but I think the Nm value is too low. I can't quite remember if it's 90 Nm or 70

Makita. Ive used mine almost daily for work over the past 18 months as well as everyjob on my landy. Works flawlessly

Not the most powerful on the market but its light and small enough to chuck in a toolbag. Happily undoes wheel nuts

I have the Draper Expert 270nm with 2 batteries and charger. It cost around £130 last year. It does what I need it to do. I have a 750mm breaker bar for the rest

I have one of the cheapo ones - they are better than the old hammer style impact wrenches, and handy for removing car wheels. But to be honest, I use it less and less. If you're not taking wheels off on a daily basis I'd put the money into something else - either a good breaker bar or decent hex spanners or sockets - they are miles better than bi-hex and will save you a lot of "rounded nuts" style heartache.

I've had wheel studs destroyed by tyre firms in the past, but I used Kwik Fit recently and noticed them using a torque wrench!

I was wanting to buy a cordless impact wrench/gun but my pneumatic Ingersoll Rand has been going great for years so I'll stick with it.
Save that money for more Disco parts.

That sounds awfully low, sure its not adjustable, it is on my milwaukee 3/8?
On the milwaukee theres a seperate button on the battery to adjust power.

Yes but the funny thing is they all gun them up tighter than needs be, then use the torque wrench to impress the punters

If the IR is the 1/2 inch Q version, not many battery guns will get near it at 150psi.

Ive got one of them and can tell you from first hand experience there are bolts it will not undo and they are not huge bolts either, but a decent air gun will even though the air gun has lower rated lbsft than the M18.
Lots of talk on mechs Fb pages ref the Milwaukee cordless 3/4 and 1 inch versions, jury is out at the minute some saying good, others not impressed at all.

But a view like an opinion is not always a fact, what I said above is a fact based on first hand experience.
They are good theres no denying that, but they are not the be all and end all just yet, they will get better.
