Just read up on it a bit and can do it all. If I can’t theres always help on here and sure I could steal @Hicap phill to oversee at some point :D Cam belt has to be done anyway. I’ll get it all out of a breaker. Wondered why there was so many wires :rolleyes:
 
Remove the valves. Throw them in the corner for spares.
Remove the electric part off the top of the pump.
Unsure about the injector4 (if there is any wires)
This puts it to a standard 300tdi.
Not seen any of the valves/airlines for years. Must be a better spec motor
 
Oooo . Just looked at earlier post/photos. IP is different to what I have seen before. Top Looks all encased.
Remove & get 1 injector to loose the wire

It is a better spec motor. It’s the lightweight version :rolleyes:

Pic shows a TPS (throttle position sensor) on the FIP (fuel injection pump), couldn't see any wires to the #4 injector though?

EDC isn't a problem really but it's one of those things that is no longer a serviceable system to run as parts are obsolete, not sure if you can still get new injectors for a 300Tdi?

The injectors are near enough rebuildable anyways? There’s a guy in Cornwall with a few breakers I’ll go get the lot from him. Weird thing is it’s got no maf and wasn’t running to one. I’ll need some egr piping come mot saying that but that’s miles off at this rate

I would rip the whole sodding lot off it and be done with it.

EDC would need MAF, maybe you just have the cruddy system they used to fit to the Ford 1.8 Endura DE engines that let it sip EGs on low RPMs but closed fully on full throttle?

No idea really but it's a lot of extra gubbins for not a lot of return in emissions.

MOT ready by May 2020?
 
Yeah it’ll all be coming out. Instead of not knowing wtf had gone on get it ripped out and standard mech setup.

I’ve no idea. Really difficult to put a time to. Hoping I’ve done most of the heavy stuff now?
 
I would at least like mine done by Dotties first birthday, the Mrs. is getting proper carped off with it taking up so much time and me still not having laid her a patio, bought her a gas BBQ for her birthday back in April and it's still in the box under the bed :oops:
 
Oooo dear. Yours is flying through now though! I can’t wait to be doing all the tweaks and getting the engine nice etc. the fab work is fairly rewarding just such a long process. I don’t think there’s going to be a section of the car that hasn’t seen welding or de-rusting. That front end isn’t even scary really is it. Simple compared to all the cross member and boot messing about.
 
Time and motivation for me, I got all the stuff I need for it and have had it laying around in various parts of the house for months, shouldn't take too much longer though as I've broke the back of it, still need to fully seam weld the inner sill to the box section underneath and get it all seam sealed and painted properly under there but that sort of stuff goes really fast compared to fabbing up repair plates and fettling them into place, I could have saved a load of time if I had just spotted plates and patches in place and seam sealed over the top but I want it to be fit and forget with regular applications of rust preventative solutions.

I must admit that the rear door post has really thrown a spanner in the works as I hadn't expected anything like that to crop up and it'll take some figuring out on how to fix it properly.
 
Yeah, it’s a tricky one! I’ve got a rear door beam bit to do but not tricky. I was going to rip the whole inner sill panel off on mine and lay floor direct to box? It’s pidgeon ****ted on at the moment and causing the box to rust.
I’m going to make some progress on boot floor this afternoon, wire wheel wing back and leave fertanned for a bit whilst I do the boot. Need a whole new arch really in rear but can’t afford it so will salvage what I can and add sheet to the curve
 
I left a bit of the inner sill intact, perhaps 1" maybe a bit more. Was a lot easier to weld to than trying to weld the rounded corner of the box to the floor
