hey everyone,
I have been told by the recovery driver that before getting a new clutch fitted, i should consider getting the master and slave's changed as the problem could be them and not the clutch itself.
The problem is... well.... no clutch!no pressure, no resistance and when its pressed, it sticks to the floor.
He said that it can be a common fault with landys, disco's etc that its the slave/ master ratehr than the clutch itself.
He said it should be an hour job by a mechainic and cheaper too.
my questions are,
b4 i get ripped off,
does this ring true?
how much should a new slave and master really cost to be fitted?how much would a new clutch cost to be fitted!?
its a 1997 300tdi defender 90, by the way!
any advice, any previous experience any nibbles of info would be very gratefully devoured.
cheers
