Don’t know if anyone else has experienced the following. Back in the summer front propshaft uj let go at 60 mph. What a racket sounded like a pneumatic dell underneath. Anyway propshaft replace leaking transmission sump cover replaced yesterday after leaking for six months. Back to the anomalie , was getting a strange vibration when I took my foot off over 60 mph , noise and vibration got significantly worse overtime . So thought it was front diff , took off front prop to properly examine or replace diff, found the flange prop bolt hand loose, tightened it up . Vibration now gone , weird. Should add 03 disco ES

Do you mean the single nylock nut holding the flange onto the front output shaft of the transferbox or the four nuts and bolts holding the prop shaft onto the flange?

I guess either being loose would cause a problem... although if the flange falls out you’d lose your transfer box oil.

That’s the one, retightend all fine. Didn’t lose any oil just had really bad vibration. Single nylock nut just to add replaced nut.

“That’s the one?”

Which one? The one in the middle, visible when you take the propshaft off?

Just interested.

Those are nylocks and torqued down “at the end of the scale” of my big torque wrench if I remember correctly. (162 newton meters or 120 lb ft). I just looked it up!
