Hi All, is there anyone in Central Scotland (East Kilbride) with a Nanocom or similar who can assist me with my P38 DHSE please?

I have 2 key fobs, until yesterday both manually unlocked and started the car and one remotely worked the central locking. I got back to the car yesterday to find neither key will now do anything except manually unlock the drivers door, the engine won't start with either key in the ignition, I'm getting an Engine Disabled message, and Please Enter Code, however as I've got an issue preventing EKA code entry (microswitch, ground or similar) I'm unable to use the code.

I had to leave the car and get a lift home, I'd like to turn off the alarm and immobiliser completely now as I live rural and there's not much chance of anyone trying to steal it.

Is the Nanocom the only device that'll do this and is there anyone nearby that has one please?

Thanks

If you intend to keep your vehicle as is, I would suggest you will need a nanocom yourself for this issue alone or new micro switch so you can use EKA.
Think test book also does it but that's of no use to you. Check the LZ map for nanocoms near you and offer Dundee cake with butter. if you were local I would come and get you now but too far sorry

Thanks DT, cake or cash not a problem for assistance , only had it 2 weeks and ironically I was at an alarm specialist when it happened enquiring about re-syncing the fob that wasn't working the central locking remotely. I looked up Nanocoms last night, £465 to buy one new, now keeping an eye out for a used one.

Just out of curiosity. What's the issue preventing EKA entry?

Hi Gold Rover
Think I've a microswitch fault in the drivers door, manually lifting the lock only unlocks that door and the boot won't open either, so from what I've read about the issue looks like a microswitch or ground fault, got the EKA code from LR yesterday (drivers door and boot issues are on my list of fixes I'm working my way through). Unfortunately sat outside in the snow today with a large bush preventing the drivers door opening fully isn't ideal for removing the door card to investigate.

Have you checked battery's in fob/key? Worth a punt cheap and easy
BBS (makers of nanocom) seem to be cheapest direct, cheaper than you found atleast.
Ta, yes, batteries swapped yesterday (had new ones as I'd bought a Britpart key fob refresh kit which I'd recommend you don't use as the rear screw on cap is made from softer plastic than the original, I've had to now reuse the original one!) I'll check out BBS, ta for the tip.

Hi welcome:)

If you can get your card off try this it may at least get you going.

Think a lot of the guys here have had issue during ownership.

Good luck

J

have you tried the fobs next to the drivers side rear most window as the ariel leed is often disconnected to stop battery drain.

Problem now is, if the fobs have lost sync since you obviously locked with fob and unlocked with key to get disabled message, fobs cannot be resynced until EKA has been entered and accepted.

Thanks Brian, will try that shortly, heading back down there to see if my RR is still there and in one piece
I was worried for you, when you said where you had to leave her. :(;)
Thanks for the answer to my post. Explains it all.
BTW lesson for today : Always park your loved one rear end in, so you can get to engine bay/ battery , and always park where you can open all doors. It's Range Rover ownership 101 :D:D
Good luck, I hope you get her home.

Have you checked the LZIR map? He not exactly central but Domino used to be up there and had a Nanocom.
