hi all. My partner has gone from looking at Defenders to the above. He is looking at one and we are confused by something the seller is saying ‘showing fault with alt (new one replaces now) and coolant sensor so making limited gears every so often’
Does anyone have any idea what they could be meaning? We have asked them but had no reply back so hoping that someone here might be able to help. Thanks in advance!

The meaning is steer clear of it. NEVER buy any Land Rover product that has existing faults unless you are a masochist with a big wallet or a skilled vehicle electronics engineer:eek:

Thank you for that. To be honest I am a little concerned over the ad...my sixth sense is telling me it’s wrong. But I needed good information to feed back to my partner who is always a bit over enthusiastic and prone to make rash decisions

These cars can be good, but the golden rule is never buy one with a problem unless you have a couple of thousand pounds spare for fixing it.

Go with your instincts, there are plenty of others out there and one with faults can seriously hit you hard especially if it turns out to be gearbox.
