Recently noticed the front left side on my 2006 Vogue develops a vibration when driving after about 10 miles. No vibration when cold and you feel it very slightly through the steering wheel but its more noticeable for a passenger through the footwell. Changed the diff oil and nothing to raise any concern there. Under hard acceleration its not as bad. It has 22 " wheels but cant see that making any difference, Would appreciate any ideas as to what it might be, I'm thinking possible bushes .

Thanks, Planning on changing the tyres round to rule that one out. I'm thinking possible CV joint as jacked it up and no play in the wheel bearing.

Forgot to mention wheel bearing,no detectable play may not mean the wheel bearing is good, but usually there is a drone on cornering on the loaded wheel if it's the wheel bearing.

I think you'll find a few spluttering their coffee at that remark. There are many comments, on here, about the clever reasons not to have 22" on an older l322. Ive never absorbed the reasons why, simply because I wouldnt ever think of doing it.
Take a search around and you'll find the myriad of comments. Not saying it is the reason for your vibration but it's somewhere to start.

Hi all,
Just fitted second hand 22" to my SC and took for a run to discover very wobbly so took for balancing. I'm sitting in the waiting area now as two need replacing due to a screw and excessive corner wear. Fingers crossed will be 100% when done. I'll let you know.
Tricky.

Have the wheel tracking looked at while your there, I think it all four wheels have to be lasered ...

The front diffs on l322's seem to be made of cheese, from what i've read..

But i'd check CV's and buckled and/or unbalanced wheels ;)

22" wheels on a range rover on what i'm guessing is 40 profile rubber is odd IMO I wonder why LR fitted pimped Cadillac wheels on a 4X4 ;)

Because they look good on the school run and go with the bling that owners of new L322's seem to enjoy.

Ok loads of replies as to why not to have 22" wheels but wasn't my choice they were already on the car. Don't think its a wheel or tyre issue as it only happens when the vehicle has warmed up. and doesn't happen all the time.

Could still be a tyre, they do warm up you know. Swap front to back.

Ok update on the vibration. Wheels swapped front to back still getting a vibration but seems to be worse if I go round a corner then when it straightens up I get the vibration soon after. It goes away if I accelerate so im thinking front outer CV joint. cant hear any knocking coming from the joint. Wheel bearing has also been replaced so can rule that out. Thoughts please...

I may have missed where you said it, so will ask. Have you been under her to check for faults, such as CV joint.

Yes had a good look underneath and nothing obvious all ball joints etc look good, no obvious knocking from or play in the cv joint but its the only thing I can think off as it doesn't appear all the time.

Have you checked your wheels? Maybe youve buckled one, or more, on our wonderful roads.

Wheels are ok and not buckled, As I said it doesn't happen all the time and if I am on a straight road it seems fine just when I go around a corner it seems to appear soon after but doesn't continue if I accelerate and then slow down. Very strange.
