Why was the drum replaced ? and who replaced it ?

Maybe the underlying cause was never rectified ...
It was changed because it was just badly corroded but passed test last year with the new drum on
I'm going to change it today and just take it for retest and bite the bullet
I've put a new cylinder on it also cleaned all the surface were shoes sit
I can't find anything else causing the problem
No warning lights are on so I don't know if they are trying it on for extra cash

I don't think its a good idea to have MOTs done at the same that fixes the car, in fact I don't think its a good idea to have MOTs done at garages that can fix the work - always best to have the test done at a place that just does tests.

That can be easier said than done, depending on whats available to you locally.

However, that said, there probably is something wrong with the brake - it just leaves that doubt in your mind if the garage will also quote to fix it.

The only warning light associated with the back brakes is the ABS sensor - nothing else would throw a light on the dash. So the brake could be totally useless/broken and you wouldn't have any warning lights.

I agree with you Gel, I have the MOT done on my bikes at the same place that does my tyres. All they do is MOT, tyres, bearings, chains and sprockets. If you fail on something they do then they will give you a price, if you fail on anything else you take it away and fix it - even a sidelight bulb!

I agree but it won't be happening again
I have never paid a garage to fix after mot fail they just rip you off , I just take it home
And repair if possible
I've changed the brake cylinder, fitted new brake pipe , changed the springs ect for the shoes also changed the drum so I will see how it goes on retest .
But in future I am going to use the local council mot station it's none profit so I won't be scammed
