series IIa lift

has anyone got any ideas how i go about lifting my series IIa.
have looked for lift kits but not seen one for mine.
There is a landy for sale on ebay that someone has mounted the axles under the leaf springs. Is this the only way

you can get milatry shackles for it, will give about a 2inch lift..

Ask yella, he has just done his

Spring over axle unless it is done right with bars to stop the diff spinning and snaping the springs,
Is not the way to go in my opinion anyway

i have only lifted the back of mine and it has given it about a 2" lift. the front is a bit different as the shackles are the wrong end of the springs. im in the process of replacing the front spring hangers with larger ones but im awaiting confirmation on the legality of it as far as mot and c&u are concerned

Look under 1 ton shackles

if you fit them to the front they turn your axle the wrong way causing the propshaf to lock up.

maybe you could alter the 'Pad' on the axle so the diff isn't at such a bad angle.

Do they have differnt axles on teh one ton version?

Rocky mountain parabolics give you a 1" over standard lift. And standard ride hight would have been at least 20 odd years ago before your leafs sagged so you would in effect be looking at a 1"+ lift over current ride hight. The sort of lift thats not going to upset your props too much.

You could spend your money on big wheels that will give a you more ground clearance.

ave got big fook off tyres that lifted me diffs and now ive got 1 ton shackles that have raised me chassis and body. to be honest it aint far off how i want it in that dept, just the brakes, engine and accident damage to sort now

thanks for the advise. think i'll be going for the shackle idea. one more thing tho. Does this mean i need to replace the shockers too to get the extra lift.
someone i know mentioned it today. would ask my mate whos a mechanic but seen as he ran off with my now ex i dont think i will. Cheers

NO butI would other wise it can stretch the shocks.and damage them.

But good mechanics are hard to find!

THe one ton had extended front mounts for the front springs and the extended shackles on the rear of the springs. IIRC they also had longer brake hoses, and the shocks were a different part number as well, same as on the 2b FC IIRC I cant think you will heve a prob with CU as the one tons were obviously road legal
