Scotland,
I was looking at something online and as usual got diverted. This time the diversion brought up a little video. One has to wonder why did the Kia driver not try to stop traffic before the Range Rover? Was it a little bit of jealousy creeping in?

They were all quite restrained. Especially when the Ford plonker joined in. I have to say I'd have been phoning the police long before the RR driver mentioned it to twonktard.
Me too mate, it beggars belief that people would actually do that. They are in danger of causing major tailbacks or pile ups

It's a triple threat. Danger of causing an affray, danger of causing an incident with other vehicles and is obstructing the highway. If I attended I'd throw the book at them.
Oh and Mr Ford wouldnt get off with it either

Its crazy mate, it makes you wonder how they are still breathing. They must have s**** for brains :(

I dont think they even have that!
the problem with people like that is that there is no reasoning with them. You end up being the one who gets grief when you try and shake some sense into them . They should be made to take a retest or some sort of highway code test again o_O

I wouldn't even try reasoning with that sort. Now I am sans warrant cards, I would just phone the police. I wouldnt even have got out the car to try talking sense, as their actions show they believe they are above the law.
The best bit is I bet Kia and Ford went home boasting about what they did.
When I rule the world there will be a lot more people walking

What a flipping Herbert !!!
Straight on sect 3b RT act drive without reasonable consideration for other users. Points and a fine.
I’d have been tempted to send the vid to the feds
More annoying than a dick splash :(

when the guy opened the Kia's door he should have snatched they keys out of the ignition and tossed them.

self appointed road police are a danger. they don't know if its an unmarked vehicle, a vehicle involved in surveillance or a vehicle used in another official covert role

Section 137

Obstruction of highways and streets
Penalty for wilful obstruction.
(1)If a person, without lawful authority or excuse, in any way wilfully obstructs the free passage along a highway he is guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding F1level 3 on the standard scale].

Already mentioned earlier on in #8.

Taking the keys out of the guy's vehicle would not have helped anyone. As well as possibly escalating the incident and commiting theft. He would also have been responsible for the vehicle being an obstruction until recovery could be arranged.
If Mr Kia tried that trick on any unmarked vehicle, he would soon have learned the error of his ways. However, the role of the vehicle he did it to is irrelevant, the fact remains his actions were dangerous.

We are bad at not using all the lanes and then zipping at the blockage.
I am assuming that the lane was open at the start and didnt have the red X on the gantry.

Been doing the rounds for a while.
I'm a bit surprised that West Yorkshire Police appear to have decided not to take any action at all (according to the various press reports) - although to be fair most of the driving offences he appears to be committing require the service of a NIP & after 14 days have elapsed from the date of the incident they can't be proceeded with.

Don't need to assume mate, the guy states the signage on the gantry and it can be seen in the footage :)

Not knowing the whole story, one would hope he was reported to West Yorks pretty soon after the incident. Meaning they could have sent someone out or invited the driver in for interview, within the 14days, and issued the NIP at that point. It's not as if they would have to do much investigating
Although , a part of me is not surprised, as I have noticed similar lack of action, several times, from those who were once my colleagues. Lazy policing, from civpol, seems to be the in thing recently and traffic seem to be worse than most.
