every things striped out the car centre consol dash cluster etc because I've got the dreaded wet carpet I've run the engine blower on full but there's no dripping does anyone know how long it has to be on or weather it just pours out every now and again we've ad no rain at all but still got wet carpet

Mine was not the o-rings but a badly fitted/sealed windscreen and the pollen-filters. But, if you have had no rain then its probably the o-rings or the heater core.

Could be the heater core then where or how would I find that I'm going to change the o rings anyway because it's all stripped out would I be able to feel the heater core leaking thanks for advice

I'm not sure I've this makes any difference to the matrix core but the two silver pipes are getting hot and the air con is blowing cold

Heater core will always be hot....regardless of selected temperature......the heater box directs air flow through the core when heat is required or diverts it away from the core when it is not - the core will always be hot!

if the pipes that feed the matrix at the side of the drivers footwell are not leaking and you have a wet carpet. the matrix is shot. MartyUK did mine and replaced with the Audi matrix which comes on metal pipes not plastic

Also I’ve it’s the heater matrix would that account for wet carpet on passenger side aswell thanks for help in advance

Any idea what Audi it comes from I will try and replace mine is a A6

@martyuk will know, or @MrGorsky. MrGorsky spoke to Marty and got rid of the o-ring setup altogether with rubber pipes when he replaced his heater core. Not sure if he used the Audi core or not. The rubber pipes smelt a bit for a week or two as they got hot but then settled down and after that were as good as gold.

Have you checked the AC drains are clear? Raise suspension, use axle stands, slide under and feel the body above the bellhousing for two rubber nipples.Give them a squeeze and prepare for dirty water to run down your arm. Sounds like a date with @holidaychicken ;):D

Good advice, my wet carpet was just a blocked drain and as said dirty water down the arm was unpleasant but faster and cheaper than stripping the dash.
