I have I am topping up my rad reservoir somewhat monthly. Have been using just water wasn't sure what to throw in it. Any advice. Thanks.

I had a Discovery like that, what ever was to hand went in - if that meant water out of a rut mixed with cow **** - then so be it.

However, I had given up ever trying to fix that pile of junk after spending $1,000's. Your question should really be about how to stop the leak.

I don't see any leaks. It has been incredibly hot the past Month though. Will look on the floor in the morning otherwise I think it maybe just overheating. Thanks for the reply and no cows round here either :/

No such thing as "just" overheating. Unless global warming has affected the UK tremendously since I left, the temp in the Wirral is never going to get hot enough to cause a car to overheat. Something's broke.

If you can't see it, then its evaporating away, or your oil level is going up (or stopped going down!).

Gotcha!! Just thought cause it's so hot it was evaporating in the reservoir :/ obviously needs investigating. Just to pick you brains, how often should (IF NEEDS BE, TYPICALLY) could you expect this? Also I have seen some videos where they apply coolant.

If you have just been putting water in then it's just boiling off, I did the same thing and got sick of topping it up with water, I did a full flush and put the correct mix in then bleed the system, I haven't needed to top up in six months or more

Look for tiny cracks around the coolant tank top face. That's a common place for slow coolant loss, without any obvious leaks

New tank then and bleed. Thanks again and for staying the cracks not an obvious thing one would look below and wouldn't think on the logic of evaporation through them. This could explain it! Your experience shows. ;)
