Locking issue

Hi folks, I wonder if anyone could help...

The doors on my Freelander 2 (2010) always used to unlock automatically when you stopped and turned everything off. Recently, however, this has stopped happening, so now when I stop the vehicle and go to get the kids out I have to unlock with the fob first... highly annoying!

Any thoughts?

How utterly frustrating, fancy having to need the fob to lock the thing, I can hardly believe it! Only joking. I can't hep I'm afraid, my series 3 actually needs a key to lock it so I don't bother.

This is to unlock it when I've just got out of it, Col, so a little different... I stop the car, turn it off, get out, then have to unlock with the fob before I can open the door to get the kids out.

The child locks are on, but they always have been and have never prevented opening the doors from the outside after the vehicle has stopped, which is now the issue. They just stop the wee ones getting out. I was wondering if I had somehow inadvertently changed a setting, but can't find any mention in the manual.

Possibly a faulty front drivers door latch

I think you could be right td4van, the drivers door lock is now doing a coulee of funny things... sometimes takes 3 or 4 presses of the fob to unlock; sometimes only partially disengages, so once unlocked the door opens half a centimetre then catches again, requiring a second pull on the handle to fully disengage. New lock required or another fix possible? Thanks.

Does it unlock using the unlock button to the left of the hazard warning switch?

So, just went and fiddled a little... it always unlock with the button on the dash, but just took it out round the corner, came back and the issues seem to have disappeared. Of course this could be a temporary reprieve, but might I have changed a setting when I was pressing buttons? I looked for different setting in the manual last week, but couldn't find anything. You access the driver menus using the CC controls and dash buttons. Press the dash button to change to the driver options, then select the option you want using the CC buttons.
However you do need to have a model that has the driver controls activated, but not all models have all options active, and if you don't have CC, then you can't change the settings on the dash at all.
