Arse!
On the drive? Ive always used a crane but this time I dont have one, its going to be a proper PITA isnt it? Unless someone has found an ingenious way of doing it?
Its not so much dropping it down , it will just land on the floor if I am not underneath it, its getting it back in.

Remove floor and seat box, use tall stands and a long piece of metal through the cab, hoist suspended from the metal bar.

Alternatively, remove the transfer box off the back of the gearbox, and the boxes are liftable. Trolley jack can help.

Ive been there before years ago, that's was a right pain, I'll grab a crane from work during the week, the less I strip out the better as arsed is something I cannot be with this now, Im not even taking the diaphragm out, that's how much arsed I cannot be with this. :) Gearbox out twice in 3 weeks is a but more than I want to be doing.

If this is to do the clutch fork trolley jack & flat surface.it Does make it easier with transfer box removed but makes the job longer.
Have you strengthened the fork arm?

Or crane with floor removed ;)

Yeah I have a HD fork in there, it feels like the pivot clip has come away from the back of the fork, or its not mounting the release bearing properly, trolley jack is brown bread so I reckon I will need a crane.

there is a jig oyu can make that goes on a trolley jack that then bolts in palce of the tranfer box sump cover, then a trolley jack can lower the lot, its made to sort the weird centre of gravity, google it

A real man wouldn’t have any problems ya poof.

Im asking on the wrong forum then, do you know any real men Bob so I can ask their advice? How about that one hanging outta yer bum hole?

I did think a cradle would be a good option but dont cherish the idea of lying under it wiggling a g/b and t/b into place on a cradle.

It is a good trek. Nearest I'm going soon is Birmingham.
I'm amazed other forum members never search/offer help.

I have my transfer box to do in a few weeks but will use a forklift for the lifting.

Gearboxes are quite light it's the transfer that's heavy.
I've split them and done the job on my own but it was a while back:rolleyes:
I used a trolley jack to lower and refit the transfer.
Second time I did the job I used an engine crane much easier.
Engine cranes are quite cheap now arnt they?
