Hi all, just got a cheap old freelander, but needs a tank, it's a 1.8 petrol, will a td4 tank fit? Thanks in advance, Neil.

The part numbers are different and the pipe arrangements are too.

What can go wrong with a fuel tank?

That is bazaar. You'll need to find the correct tank though.

I think this must be a ploy by the Association of Land Rover Parts Companies to boost business. Your fuel tank, @Skinny Mike brakes - they're putting all sorts down on the roads to break bits!

The tank should be dirt cheap from a scrapie: the demand for them will be very low

Hope you picked up the extension bar, might need it to replace tank

Sorry to mither again, but my vehicle is a V plate (99?) 5 door, will a later year model or a 3 door tank be the same?

Looks like chipboard after over 10 years - but the carrier should be steel eBay is a good source of reasonably-priced replacements.

Thanks for all the replies, I've got this sorted now. Got a tank off a facelifted 3 door. While the tank is physically the same, i had to swap the fuel sender over. The pipes are all different and had to be made to fit.
