No avoid K seal.

Fix it properly, don’t bodge it.

Ok so put in the uv stain this morning then unfortunately I had to go fishing to heat the motor up properly haha. Anyway it’s dark now so I had a look with the provided UV torch and to be honest it’s not very clear? There is a tiny bit of leaking at the p gasket so I’ll do that when I get a min. But most of the stain is on the other side some on the engine mounts some on the side of the sump a bit on the bottom of the vacuum pump. I really can’t see where it’s comming from... I’m now thinking it might be from the pressure cap (although that’s new) and spraying water about? I think I’ll power wash the engine bay and have another look in a day or so. It’s so frustrating grrr ducking landrovers

Did you use any type of sealant on the p gasket? Was it a genuine one or a blue bag one? Metal or not?

Metal p gasket small amount of sealant part came in clear bag. There is no sign of the gasket leaking

Does your UV light show anything?

It picked up a leak on a heater hose and a small p gasket leak. There is some dampness down the driver side of engine.. engine mount and side of sump but that could be oil difficult to tell. It doesn’t show up very green but a bit mabe

ok I had another look with the UV torch and there may be a wee leak in the bottom hose? Its one of those multi piece ones and there is coolant on the power steering hoses below the three way joint on the top of the bottom hose... but none on the hose? I have a spare in the garage somewhere so thats the next job......

well the bottom coolant hose I have just found in the garage is a kind of spider think all sealed and the one in the defender at the moment has connections and clips

BTW can I reuse the coolant ? its getting crazy draining down and refilling all the time!
