Seat belt shoulder bracket

Hi all, just a quickie - I have four new boxed seat belts as pictured. I went to fit them in my one-ten but discovered there's a Mount missing. Where the tape measure is, on my old belts is a triangle bracket the belt moves through, which bolts up and behind the shoulder, but new belts don't have it.
Obviously this needs to be done correctly for safety of me and my passengers but is there something obvious I'm just not getting? Or do I need to ditch these and buy more?

It's worth noting that the belt can only be pulled out from above (bolt of inertia reel at the bottom) so I can't see a way these could possibly work.

I might be missing something here, but how do new belts work without it? I'm off to look through my pics. Or, I could be sensible and pop outside for a second!

I did go outside in the lounge pants and T shirt, bloody freezing, even for us Northerners. Lounge pants are just silk though
Right, my seat belt real has a bracket sticking out the side, which ties the other end of the belt. This is a pre rebuild picture so excuse the aluminium oxide.

Then, above the shoulder, is the triangular mount that the belt slides through.

Mine was the same as @Al2O3 's piccies, before I got rid of the roof.

Where did you get the belts from? are they folding rear seat belts or summin?

My uncle gave me them, he bought them for something a few years ago but can't remember what although it would have been a landrover of some sort. He thinks it was his ninety but he's had so many landies he's not sure. Either way they were never used and he gave them to me last year. Thing is, they're totally useless without that triangle mount and the way they are made means it can't be added / removed.

As the driver you could use a piece of baling twine...your choice. But for the thought of your passengers fit the correct kit, it is not that expensive.

That's my preferred route - this is one area I don't intend to skimp on, just didn't want to buy a load of new seat belts to open the boxes and find the same thing because I'd missed something obvious

No bother, marra. They must be off a vehicle where they inertia reel is mounted above the shoulder? Better to be safe than sorry though.

Possibly, but then the belt doesn't un-roll. Strange...

Definitely needs the missing bracket/guide for a Defender. Probably came in a blue box.

Totting up nicely, £140 for four seat belts.
But you can't put a price on safety. I wonder how many peoples look like the ones I took out? Like a mouse has been at them.
