EGR valve ok. (i think). However when I unplugged the mass sensor the hesitation stopped but power was crap. I still drove it to & from work 60ml round trip without any hesitation. Could this be the problem? Thanks.
I'll clean the sensor & see what goes. I'm assuming my brother checked the egr before he got onto the maf sensor but I'll double check to make sure. This is why I like this forum. It save's wasting a heap of money before finding the real problem. Very knowledgeable members & really helpful. I'll keep u posted. Thanks for advice.
Hi Hippo. Don't know if you can remember my previous post (long time ago) but I decided to take my Freelander 2 off the road until last week& never did get around to sorting it. The problem was intermittent power loss when I accelerated. We unplugged the mass sensor which stopped the intermittent power loss but it drove as if it had no turbo. I reconnected it but again the intermittent power loss when accelerating. Any help would be appreciated. Rob
I'd check the intercooler pipes. A small split can cause havoc to your power, though smoke will be a problem. It's a cheap fix and getting rid of the EGR will save you issues in the future.
