Hya i new so i thought id introduce myself. Ive had a 3dr 300tdi disco for the last couple of years so i decided i wanted a more road going car to tow my trailer with so upgraded to a p38 2.5td and had nothing but issues hahah.

But im from burton on trent staffordshire

It werent that it would be better to tow with but it would be nicer to use as a daily car.
But its nots going anywhere at the moment as i believe i need to resync the ecu with the becm and cant really get the car to a garage

Ah yes, that's the problem with using a rangie as a daily car, they only work for 25% of the time. I wish you well with it.

Yer im starting to realise that now but the gearbox has gone in my disco so im truely stuck haha

And yes you are correct smithy they are 2.5l because when i was looking to by one i found out

It is a bit haha. The 300tdi came about from anticipated euro 1 emissions regs and loads of other improvements that were needed over the 200tdi. Over 200 changes were made from the 200tdi.
A company in Brazil produced heavily modified 2.8 versions until 2010 I think, then the firm changed names and started doing a 3.0 version, think it was called the power stroke

Sell both of em and get a disco td5 , best of both worlds. Excellent tow car with good road manners and a smattering of unreliability to keep you on your toes. Or on your back fixing the bloody thing
