I am not a detailer, that would be a fate worse than death, for me, but I understand the reasons it's not simply a car wash.

I think you've had a bad experience, the market is awash with monkeys who often don't have proper skills and can actually do damage.

No issues, which is a pity as the banter is entertaining.
FYI - the detailer polished that hard he exposed the paint on the corner of the boot lid - the car was of reasonable value and I took it back to a certain dealer in Wilmslow and they got it re-painted, the match was perfect but the bill for that was not !!

my comment was not meant to be funny - it was a reply to a thread - but unlike your comment that was rude, mine was a point of fact. It took the guy Two days to clean the car (not that that has owt to do with your very poncey self) - yes clean the car, oh did I forget the 'serum' yes but lets not - so to make things correct:-
1. detailing is not a fookin skill
2. detailing is a fill in when you have time to waste
3. detailing is a fookin rip off and I will never have it done again and pay
4. detailing is a word that should be used for describing an item in full.
5. detail-ers are usually Polish
6. detail-ers should have listened at school !
7. £800 for a car wash - is a fookin rip off.
That said I did like the guy that did the job and I was happy with my car wash, but as clearly you are a washer of cars, git yeself round to ours on a Friday @ 3.00 when the lads return to the yard and you can wash all our vans and pick-ups and I will give you a fiver!
