Gearbox issue

Had the old girl in with a strange fault - it has a slight grunt going into 2nd and 3rd gear! this happens either going up or coming down the box. I have drained the oil, filled with auto transmission fluid and worked to hot temp, then drained and filled with the correct oil. this was in case it had was wrong. Has anyone else had this issue?

I can't comment on the gearbox because I don't have that model I'm afraid.

yes and Neilly, this was done so someone backward could read it!

Anything untoward in the oil you drained? Could be the synchro, or maybe just the gear lever out of adjustment.

I will admit to a bit of OCD but thanks for the comment. having had the pre puma defender/90, all the gearboxes seemed a bit 'clonky', but this dose not feel great! I was wondering if there was a little clutch drag. changing the discs and pads so will wait and see what it is like on the road.

no the oil was ok, I even dragged it through a strainer, the leaver is fine I think and to be fair I never knew that was adjustable. will check

new oil has done the job!, absolutely perfect now - thank the lord.
