I bought the missing engine and gearbox under trays for the P38 just to add a bit of protection. They have been sitting in the workshop for ages with the used tailgate waiting to be fitted. Thought I'd do it last weekend when I got 5 minutes but when I did could I work out where the bloody things are mounted. I felt like a bloody 2 year old trying to push those wooden block shapes through the holes and failing miserably :D.
Am I missing mounts as well perhaps? Some pictures would be useful. I did have a skim through the workshop manual but couldn't see it so any help appreciated.

the big tray has side panels with the big wings and the heat shield backing. The smaller tray doesn't. What I bought is the same as this picture. Am I still missing something?

Both the big one and the little one does. Which is which? I assume the big one was the engine

Big one is the gearbox, small one is the front of engine between radiator and front of sump.. There is no tray under the engine sump. For fitment look at RAVE > Chassis and Body > Repair > Engine and gearbox acoustic covers.

The side panels on the big on bolt to the chasis and crossmember at rear of gearbox, The front one should have brackets obve the steering links and you have to have the suspension set on high to make it easier as it has to be fed into position from the rear over the steering links.

I don't have a choice with suspension height! Thanks for the tips. I'll check the brackets are still there
