after a bit of off roading in a forest area I managed to land my chassis on a decent sized stump. It kind of brought into light my gearbox oil cooler in lower left of the bumper.
So, Simply can I or can i not use the the one in the coolant rad?
if not why ?
if so who has done so please?
thank you in advance, :D;)

If you have a manual radiator fitted all you need is the manual pipework. And a bit of fettling. Don't know if pressures would be different though.

cheers big guy, I do indeed have a manual rad, I thought It was odd having one, mine being an auto! Is there any reason why they didn't use the same rad for both the auto and manual?

Don't know why they did that, maybe it's a question of pressure. But not certain. Personally i would leave it alone.

shït you said you dont know?
your pedestal is rocking!!
do diesel engines produce more heat?
I would like to move it or do something so it's not in harms/stumps reach, although I do check my ground.. apparently not very well today...:p

People on here have moved it to front of radiator for one reason or the other. But can't remember who. There has to be a reason why Land rover put the manual cooler in the radiator and the auto cooler where it is. But i don't know what it is. Best to leave well alone and stick to mildly damp short grass.

Optimum temperature the oils work at? I would imagine the autobox would heat up more and require greater heating. Manual box may even use the water to heat it to temperature faster?
