Gearbox trouble

Hi guys and gals
Having a problem with my series 3 jumping out of 2nd and reverse doesn't happen so much in low range does anybody have any ideas of a cause/fix for the issue

Have done that quite recently because I got stuck in third replaced all the bearings the reverse gear roughed up the gold coloured rings on the synchro and replaced the synchro springs

2nd gear can have too much endfloat ,reverse can be adjusted to ensure its fully engaging,whats roughing up the gold coloured rings mean ?they are either good or repl;aced you cant repair them
