P38A Bonnet release

[Grrrrrr]

Had to jump another car yesterday. Reached down to pull the bonnet release and a second later was swearing and looking at a bloody finger. The bonnet release has snapped off leaving a real nasty sharp piece of plastic in its place. Missus denies everything but no bits anywhere so they've obviously dropped out somewhere and someone must have broken it!

Can you replace just the lever bit?

I have found myself accidentally pressing on the lever with my foot while entering/exiting the car. That is one thing that I am not keen on with the P38 is the layout of the car below the steering wheel. Foot catches with surround when moving between accelerator and brake and keys hanging down on knee.

Move the seat back and draw steering wheel out towards you.I cannot see how you catch your foot on the bonnet catch ,i have just tried it and find it virtually impossible

Well the missus obviously managed it without even noticing! Ordered a replacement.

My bonnet release snapped off in my hand and went flying. Found it year later somewhere strange like inside dash or something? Ive made do with the nub.

The handle isn't expensive and quick to replace.

Zip tied them when I first got vehicle, inside looks okay but water has turned grease into pish
