Far as I can tell that should fit, bundles of capacity and plenty of crank power. Could anyone confirm if it will fit?

Hi @bankz5152 ,

I have the powerline version of that in my D2, it is a beast.

Cheers

I must agree with @neilly tis a huge box of volts, but it does fit in the D2 battery box, but you've got to lift it up there, it weighs 27kgm, that's just short of 60 lbs in old money. The Powerline version was 95 quid
I'd say that it's more of a main vehicle battery rather than a deep discharge type of leisure battery you might expect in a caravan.

@brian47

Did you get yours yet?

Cheers
Yep! Ordered it yesterday and it arrived this lunchtime. Just got to get it fitted now, that's all, got a mate who's going to give me a hand tomorrow, he can do the liftin' and I'll do the grutin'.
I don't think I can lift the damn thing on my own with my health problems, I try not to give in to it and there's no point in grumbling about it, but sometimes you've just gotta hold your hands up and admit defeat, but it won't stop me trying.

That's a beast alright. :)
I don't have a winch. I've watched them being used in competitions. From my observations, I would think that you wouldn't need a split battery arrangement. If you are running a lot of ancillary leisure stuff, like standing still in all night in a camper conversion then yes. Having said that, I'm just going off what I have read about.
To be more helpful, I can whip my passenger seat off tomorrow night and measure the depth of the seat box for you.
I could also measure my battery as I've only had it a few months and when I put it in I had a little panic as I thought it wasn't going to fit. It does, but I wouldn't want one much bigger!
Let me know if this would help.

That would be bloody amazing if you could!

My problem is the big rivnuts that hold the seat in failed, so its nut and bolted in place BUT I cant remove the nuts and bolts alone, so I unbolt the subframe from the seat rails. Which involves first removing the cubby box, then 6 bolts in the subframe which are tough to get to! Takes forever plus I really do not want to damage the threads in the seatrails!

I did look at split charge as well, the cost is just too high for me right now. £200 - £300 for batteries then another £100 or so for the management system.

Hi @bankz5152 ,

Not sure if this helps, As I cannot guarantee my battery box is the same as yours. My Fender is a bitsa.

I looked at this fitment before on my Fender with the battery you listed above which I also have on my D2. I remember thinking at the time that the height was a little tight , The battery in my fender is approx 300mm long, 170mm wide and 200mm deep. Landrover battery AH52 -10655-AA.

I have just been and measured the depth and mine is approx 240mm deep at the shallow end , which happens to be the earth end.

But this, as I say is on my bitsa fender.

Cheers

Cheers neilly. 235mm inc terminals... hmmm it might fit. Checking the reviews on the page a few people have fitted it to 90/110 TD5's... Looks like this might be the one!

Not going to buy it for a few months, I want to get the anderson connectors & aux fuse box wired in at the same time, save taking the seat out multiple times

I did look into it, but when it comes down to my seat, more specifically the one my girlfriend sits in, I want it to be safe, well as safe as possible! I didnt feel asthough the rivnuts I found where solid enough... Thanks for the off though :)

Once this big ass battery is in, the Anderson connector and the aux fuse box I doubt I'll ever have to go in there again. While changing the battery the idea was to run the battery cable to the rear for an amp. I may also run another set of Anderson connectors to the front for future winch fitting.

All fitted, no problems. Didn't need to cut anything at all, it dropped in and with just a bit of jiggling it sat in the bottom of the battery box quite securely. Re-entered the code on the radio, reset the clock which was still on British Summer Time anyway and all is good.
I must admit though, I did cheat a bit, I rang my local garage and asked him to do the lifting for me! One of those little jobs that a good garage will do for nothing, just to keep you custom in the future.

Sounds good, especially like the garage doing the lifting for you.

Did it have the bottom indented, my original one, still had LR stickers on it, had an indented bottom section for about 25mm of the height , which meant the battery fitted ok, the replacement one had flast sides with no indent on the bottom edge which meant it did not sit right to the bottom.

Cheers

As I've so often said in the past, build a relationship based on trust with your local indie garage. Apart from doing my battery, the last time I asked him for a favour it was so that I could get underneath it to check that the A/C drains were clear. He let me use one of the pits for an hour.
As I said, it's based on trust, I trust him to do the job right and he trusts me to pay him on time! ..... and to look after myself properly, respecting all of the H&S rules while I'm on his premises.

@bankz5152
If you're not getting the battery for a month or so I'll do my seat box and battery measuring at the weekend if that's ok. Mines a standard 1996, 300Tdi, Defender 90 just so you know how it might compare to yours.

Just a thought on your seat mounting and rivnut situation. In an accident the seat is not going to hold your girlfriend in, the seatbelt is going to do that. While you don't want the seat coming loose, the seat belt should be holding your better half and her seat in place. Hmmmm, there may be some shear forces, depending on the nature of the crash! Just thinking out loud o_O

Right, mate. Hope this helps.
My battery is a Lyon 105Ah 760CCA. It measures 340mmx210mm + 23mm for terminals on top. So overall height 233mm(approx)
Front of battery box - loads of room- measures just under 290mm clearance.

Other end of battery and the seat box measures 240mm. The steel tape is flat up against the side of the battery in this picture.
IMG_5794_zpsb8dxz8m0.jpg

So, approximately 7mm clearance. (It's the negative terminal though)
And a picture from side on to give some perspective.

If you want any more measurements, just let me know.
