L322 2007 Vogue V8 Jump Starting

Ive seen.... The batt is right at the back, tbh its almost hard to get leads on!

RR bonnet is a dick, on gas struts but got no stay! Full extend and it just drops on your head unless im missing something?

I gave up looking and used a brolly haha

I did read the new RRs have an explosive on the + terminal to "blow it off" in the event of a crash! Jump starting can make it go bang...
 
If you get one of the bigger ones, make sure you take a tape measure and check it will fit.
There is 40mm difference in length between the lower and higher CCA ones.

But with batteries, I like to think BIGGER is BETTERER................:D

snap! fitting Fender batts is easy, so much space n easy to get to! Need a new one for that as well....

The RR is almost likena family member, keeps everyone going!

Got a Euro Car Parts 15 mins away, actually closer than Halfords, shall head there instead. Need to get my radius arma back on if i wanna pick it up tho ahha

If it is the same as the early l322 there is literally 1 or 2 mm between the end of the battery and the side panel, which has a small square of soft material on it to stop the battery touching the panel.


As for the struts @bankz5152 , there is a metal strip on the lozenge shaped hinge. It has a small hole in it, this hole relates to a very small stud on the panel. Press said metal strip onto said stud and Robert is your Mother's brother. Again all foresaid is ref early model.

Dont even know where they go on a disco! Tbf fender aint easy anymore since the buckets went in, now its a real pita. The rivnut failed so the sliders are nut n bolted to the seat box, means ive to take the cubby box out, split the subframe off the sliders! longg....

Thankfully Disco, is at front drivers side of the engine bay. Which is good considering I have either had to jump my 90 with the d2 or jump the d2 with my 90....................and that position works perfectly for how I park them. :D

I bought a battery pack a couple of years ago and ensure it is permanently charged up. The reason I know so much about the Vogue battery is because I only found out a couple of weeks ago the indy I use replaced battery with wrong size about 3yrs ago. I have had 4 or 5 batteries under warranty in that time. Finally they checked with eurocarparts and found that because of the Vogue's liking for expensive toys, she needs more oomph than the other designations.

Of course. However, the new battery was paid for because I couldn't prove which battery was in the veh before they changed it the first time. I am sure it was the correct one because I was able to go away to work come back 3 or 4 months later , jump in, turn the key and go home. But when replaced I couldn't even leave her for a week or she wouldn't start.
 
My mate advised an Oldham battery for George and that was back in June. Had NO trouble with it in all the freezing cold weather and seeing as how I'm still broken, George doesn't get started all that often (sometimes a week goes by without being moved) so I am able to hobble out on my crutches and get in and know she'll fire up on demand ;)

I've had umpteen Halford's batteries, they were using Yuasa, but they were failing so often they changed manufacturers and are a bit better now, but I can't say better than the Oldham battery :)
 
I'm not sure that make of battery is as important as CCA and Ah , especially for the Vogue. It was the CCA and Ah that weren't up to the requirements of the Vogue, on the replacement put in the Golden Girl, rather than the make. Made obvious by the fact several different makes were put in her but they all failed quite quickly. An issue resolved now the correct battery is in plce.
 
Going to gave another crack and trying to jump it today.

Going to leave the RR plugged in for at least 30 mins. A possibly problem is as soon as you try to turn the key it turns the bloody headlights and everything else on! I imagine that drains a fair bit of charge.

Equally to double check,
- Good Batt Red+ to Bad Batt Red+
- Black- Good Battery to Black- unpainted metal - Was using the main earth strap for the battery

Leave for 30 mins, try n start
