Hi all. Another successful MoT for the old girl last night, but as he was giving me the cert the tester said "you need a pad for your clutch pedal" (the rubber pad)
Now I've never had one on any of my Land Rovers (20 years) - just a pad on the brake pedal. Is this a new thing for the MoT? I guess he could have failed me if he thought it was a major issue.

Did he list it as an advisory? Or just mention it in passing?

Cant see as it impairs the function of the clutch, although I guess it might make your foot slip off it in the wet.

I changed all the pedal rubbers on mine when I bought it, after 20 years the tread was worn off em!

They are about £2 each on Ebay. lt's a safety item.
If you had wet shoes and your foot slipped off the pedal you could lurch forward and hit the car in front.

I made some out of some left over bits of ally chequered plate. Pic from 14yrs ago.still good but the accelerator pedal one is worn to one side because I'm tall and can't put my foot square on it.
