Check engine light ON after servicing injectors

But with 94% modulation, I never got the check engine light and as such didn't worry about any faults logged. I was planning to change the timing chains and then set static timing to complete the matter.

Now, after this injector service , it's kind of Pandora's box.
Only positive thing is that I got the modulation reduced to 63%.

But you haven't got the modulation reduced to 63%. You have a fault on the number four injector which is cocking up the ECU. You can't alter static timing by servicing the injectors you can only do that by moving the pump. Fit a new number four injector and go from there. High modulation will not put MIL lamp on. If MIL was not on before you had injectors done your man has damaged the number four injector simple as that.

I would not advise to, the car should be in limp mode with revs restricted to around 3000 RPM.

If they broke the injector shouldn't they fix it? Realise things might be trickier out there.

never ever had my injectors out. Seem to work so best left alone!

Needle RPM always zero and when accelerator pressed, (Trans in park) it goes up and remains without dropping to 750. To get back to 750, it needed to load the engine.
Also, 'inj actual degrees' is always zero & timing modulation varies between 46 and 60

I've made you a folder. Could redo your fuelling file as well but we know there is no signal from that needle sensor (number 4) so that's the first thing to fix. I reckon on average the needle and crank should be within 10% of each other.

Actual injection degrees is not right either. The ECU is obviously not getting a signal from the number four injector. He needs to recheck all the wiring, if that is sound replace the injector. Common fault with these is trapping the wire from the injector in the manifold joint and breaking it.

Just for my benefit it'd be nice to have the EDC fuelling trace before he sorts number 4 and afterwards. Just to see how many things it affects.

Or you might get lucky and find just a stripped wire shorting out?

Wires checked , nothing unusual. Also, the 4th injector indicates a resistance of 118.9 ohms.

Yesterday, I had to attend a funeral about 100KMs away . During the return journey , I suddenly realized that my good friend- check engine light, who was with me always, missing.
I was averaging 120KMH and didn't notice anything unusual. Stop & start, the light goes out as normally would.
Thanks to you all for great advise and thanks to my empty pockets , otherwise I would have bought a 4th injector.
Must read the faults and see where the modulation is.
After that, see to oil leaks in auto box and the steering box. This is a never ending process.

Take another trace. Let's see the difference. Maybe the loose connection has reconnected? Or they've bent a wire and it is damaged inside but working for now?

Yes, will get back with another trace. My diesel mech says that I would have got some dirt into the 4th injector while fitting and it got dissolved. Hence, the results.

Hmmmm. Whole area should have been cleaned thoroughly with brake cleaner before even starting touching injectors. So he thinks the needle was jammed?

That 's his explanation as I was blaming him for the damage.
Yes, everything was cleaned , as much as possible. so doubt his view.
But, then how could it function suddenly? May be while re-assembling the injector something got in.

My feeling is the wire is damaged causing an intermittent fault. If you take a trace and the needle value is there then clearly a wire has reattached in my opinion. I guess if the needle had jammed it might give a similar reading but I thought the tolerance was so tight on that needle that not a lot could get in. Never had it apart though so I could be completely wrong. Be interested to hear what @wammers thinks.
