td5 injectors

Hi, it appears that I have destroyed no1 injector in my defender. I have fitted a new injector loom to no avail! so it seems that I need to replace it.Does any one have suggestions as to where I can obtain one(new) for a good price? I have been quoted $800.00 locally (Australia). I have seen them for 200 pound from united diesel (UK) any opinions. Thanks Steve P.

Are you sure the INJECTOR is goosed?

Because it is Number 1 cylinder, it may be the failure of the copper washer under the injector letting gas up that stops that one injector from working.

If it was washer failure further back (2 3 4 or 5) then more injectors would get gassed and stopped.

A washer costs pennies, and isn't that hard to fit.

Get the injector out and examine the bottom end. It will be reasonably clear if it has been gas-leaking.

PM me if you want a description of how to fix this WITHOUT undoing the injector rocker adjusters or any grief.

Checked on a computer. Seems it's not firing, have been working through with Charles.I have fitted a new injedtor harness and am going to get it checked again.Have checked the oil in the loom prob ; not apparent but i will do a really thorough investigation.

He says he's had it checked and the computer has spotted it's not firing, is this a familiar scenario to the seal thing you are speaking of?
