Oh dear you really should seek help .

Or maybe you should! :)

Start with getting someone to help you post your queries in the right place, rather than in a the Members Vehicles area.;)

Your fred is not really a Gallery of pics and stuff about your motor, is it? Just some rather rambling tech queries!

If it makes you happy I ll delete my membership to this site so you can be Lord and master over it all .

No need for that, just don't talk shit about something you don't know about. Good job on fitting the engine well done. But the finer points you need to read up on. I don't want to be lord and master of anything, but i do draw the line when someone gives misleading and totally incorrect information to people who maybe don't know any different, they could get their selves in trouble listening to the incorrect advice. Maybe the car doesn't start well hot because you set the static incorrectly.

I've had engines that have been timed 180 degrees out and they ran fine no smoke etc but slowly got harder to start check your timing is ok especially if someone else has been tweeking about under there .mine will black smoke if i hammer it but my turbo was well worn .those bosch pumps are pretty bullet proof apart the electronic bit on top but that either works or doesn't .
i dont believe that

Hot start is because the pump is getting too hot .how do I know because I ve cooled the pump with cold water and it fires up just like it does cold instantly .. .good bye .

It's a rebuilt pump and no not a backstreet hero .

Look at the pump timing and the lift at TDC number one firing. The mechanical VE needs as said earlier 1.54 mm setting as cam lift. 0.90 mm is no good. Pump always reverts to static when engine is switched off as internal pressure bleeds off. What are you using for a lift pump?

This is going well I see

Firstly this isn't Anything Goes so everyone cut out the swearing, if you have to bypass the filter you shouldn't be typing it.

This has the potential to be an interesting vehicle thread but it's not the place for an ego contest, if you disagree strongly with something said then say so but try and remember you're not in the playground and I don't like being a dinner lady.

I ll hold off for now but if this starts to be the norm on here then I'm done I've better things to do than exchange messages with a dudley do right .
