P38A Auto Box change

I was wondering if anyone has changed their zf HP 22 for a hp 24 and if the torque converter from the 22 will fit on the 24 if it does not is there a torque converter that will fit ?

Can be done. I take it the 22 is in a diesel and you want to fit a 24. You will need to fit the diesel torque converter and the bell housing and maybe also the oil pump to match the diesel torque converter drive.

I have just been to sussex automatics and they dont know if the oilways line up and also think the input shaft on the 24 is longer

you can interchange the parts from the 2 boxes ,but its a good few years since i did, iirc the pump housing is deeper on the 24 to take account of improver C/D clutch packs and a increase in plate for clutch pack A,input shafts just tap out

Unless you change the oil pump as i understand it.

Didnt Datatec have all the details on swaping these boxes might be worth giveing him a pm, and tell him to come back as well its been a bit quiet on here lately
