Hi all

I want/need to change my battery and have done some searching and the hankook 130ah seems to be the kiddie.

However, I've really only got time this weekend to fit. Is there any high street type shop or motorfactor that stock this brand? I can only find hankook tyres.

Battery megastore do a good deal but they're miles away and missed the order deadline.

Cheers in advance

If in trouble halfords with a tape measure and trade card will do the job for a fair price.
Remember with batteries bigger is better, especially with winter on its way.
My old series 2 with tdi fitted has a std transit diesel battery cost 60 odd quid 5 years pus ago and still cranks it over just fine, sometimes not used for months at a time.
My 90 tdi has a numax one fitted again 5 years plus and wangs it over like a good un.

I must get one of these trade cards

Can't help , I'm afraid, merely dropping in to sympathise. I almost always find terrestrial retailing a disappointment these days.Whenever I want something in a hurry and go to real life bricks and mortar shops they've never got what I want, and the things I don't want are too expensive, or the wrong shape and size anyway.

Yep, it's always the way!

I'm going to try and wait it out, just means I'll get to use the Anderson connector and leads and meet some new friends :)

I'll order one off t'internet. Is the hankook the one to get?!?

From what you say the Hankook sounds like a good idea. When mine needs a new one I shall buy the biggest CCA and amp/hour rating item I can fit under the passenger seat. I have thought about getting a twin battery set up, but then I'd need the control unit too, and as I don't have a winch it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Well Brown, I've always thought of twin battery/split charge setup too. But, if I get the below hankook I might not fit two (not got the tape measure out yet). Ho hum

Dimensions

12v 130Ah 1000CCA

Length (mm) - 330

Width (mm) - 172

Total Height (mm) - 242

Terminal Type - Standard Post (A)

Terminal Layout - Centre

Yes, to get two in the seatbox you'd need to get short ones like those Optimas so as to fit them in sideways. Looking at the amp/hours they're rated at though (typically 55) you're probably just as well off with one big one that'll give you over 100.

Iirc the Numax is 1000cca not sure on capacity though, but I bought it as load's of people were fitting it and recommending it at the time.
Its also got useful extra stud fitting's on the terminal's so easy to add extra wires/load's.

I'll give it a Google, ta. Extra stud/terminal can't be a bad thing
