VIN number is readable with a Nanocom even if BECM is locked. FOB code and EKA code are readable IF BECM is unlocked, but not if it is locked. Only thing that can unlock a locked BECM is Faultmate MS2 with special and very expensive software.

Not that I need to now as sent the BECM to Rick but I was asking the workshop at LR if they could extract the VIN for the non original BECM in the car so I could order the correct Fob for it. I was told on Monday there was nothing could be done to help me, hence my frustrations!

I'll be passing through with mine in a week or so but I'll have the missus and the mother-in-law with me. Think there's one near St. Austell if he fancies a drive.

If you are passing through and have EAS o wouldn't mind a test drive may spur me on to get bags as never tried it. So long as your happy to split a pasty though?

Would do for certain if I was on my own. I need to guage the mood and tiredness of the little one first. Depending how things go we may stop at that steam preservation line that goes up to Minehead. Mine's the diesel and nowhere near as smooth as the 4.6 IMO.
