Just a few thoughts:
Laning - brilliant. A nice selection of lanes, going through some amazing countryside. We kept being surprised how attractive the countryside was, and it was very clever to arrange this while the rape was flowering Generally easyish lanes, and that was exactly what was wanted. There was always the pay and play for anyone who didn't mind breaking something, but these lanes meant that anything from a gaylander with road tyres (sorry Gary!) to a proper trattor could enjoy them. There were a few opportunities to get stuck, and I even got to carry out a winch rescue on Sunday. Well done those who put all that effort into arranging a very enjoyable drive(s).
Food - It is always a great shame to waste food, especially when it was as good as that available. Tickets seem a good idea, but remembering how difficult it was to get people to buy entry tickets this might be a problem. Group cooking facilities would seem to solve most problems, people could bring the food they prefer, and a very important point, it would encourage the shyer peeps to mingle around the fire pit, helping to break down the imagined barriers between groups.
Entry shyness (ooo err missus}. People who might have been on the forum for a few months would gain an impression of a few groups of people who know each other well, and who might have done so for years. On arrival at the site the impression is of a number of groups talking to each other,while you are just pointed down the field. It takes a lot of bottle for most people to introduce themselves to an apparently tight knit group, and they could often use an excuse to start talking, such as a communal cooking centre. The position of the marquee off to one side of the field with the tents / pikey wagons scattered on the other side doesn't help, but I understand the difficulties of moving it. A jobs list could provide the catalyst to start people mixing.

I quite like that you camp where you want. We were still twanging guitars, laughing and singing till 1am Friday and then carried on a Waltons night conversation till about 2. It was nice we could be away from it all if we wanted then we didn't upset anyone with little uns.
I think next year the folks that were a little shy will get stuck in more now they now what it's all about. We were the same. Please don't change it too much or it will end up like a normal camping site.

With regards to meeting and talking to people, you just have to get stuck in. I had never met anyone and i'm (believe it or not) really quite shy and usually feel terribly awkward in social situations, but everyone was so nice...
And that massive group sat by the gate, there were not that many there had met before i don't think...but had brought chairs over and were chatting away...
If people want jobs to be given to them next year though i'm sure it can be arranged... someone else can do the writing names on badges thingy and meeting people at the gate because you all have bloody stupid forum names that i can't spell :lol:

IF a north event happens and it alternates every year.. then it could be a good way of giving the org teams a break so they get to enjoy it without doing anything every other year

Open with a clay pigeon shoot. That'll get everyone together. The smashing of missed clays on the next camps roofs always breaks the ice.

It seems like it was a fantastic event for everyone.
I'm slightly disappointed that there was no epic yellow90-style feckwittedness with regard to ditches on the laning pics.

I for one found it a good weekend, I only knew neil, kate, sue n zip (oh n young jack n doggies) before I went there, I didn't know anyone personally from the Yorkshire convoy, only from chatting on here, when I got to steve's (b20wnx) house first I was greeted with a cup of lovely tea, then met up with the rest at wooley, me n sarah has some fun on the way down with the cb's (well rachel sang to me lol) you would've thought we were all old mates when we arrived!
the greeting on arrival by everyone was fantastic was made to feel welcome, as said before the name tags caused problems twisting round (did say I was gonna put my name on both sides but never got round to it) once I was sorted I meandered down to the marquee, met some more folk and got chatting to most, I thoroughly enjoyed it, soz I didn't make it to the disco on sat night but my vertigo got the better of me, so just sat round my firepit.
I do as lot of bike events and I am yorks rep for a bike club, we have a bandit national rally every year (similar to landyzone event) when it first started not many people attended, but as the years have gone by and the club has grown we have loads n loads attend now, because we have area reps what we do is arrange it every year to be somewhere different up and down the country, this year we are off to bonny Scotland!! But we also pay a yearly membership fee that covers the event cost plus a free meal on the sat night for full members.
Now I know this isn't possible with landyzone but as a biking fraternity we obviously have problems getting places to pitch the tents and have a good weekend, if you decide to hold one in Yorkshire I don't mind helping out, we could ask squires café bar, as they have huge fields, caravan pitches, showers, loos n a café/pub!! they hold allsorts of events there, so a few landy's I'm sure wouldn't be a problem and as a few of you will know some fantastic laning round there (I'm sure sue and a few more locals would sort the laning out)
the laning was good, the food that I had was fantastic, was great that when we rolled up on Friday we didn't have to **** about cooking! and the curry n chilli were gorgeous on sat, whish I had known there was so much left would've purchased some to bring home with me.
I always take my own beer to every camping do I go to, I'm from Yorkshire and too tight to pay for it lol
I had no problems with the music, loved watching peter dancing round on friday night lol
I had no issues with doggies, I don't think sleeping near the marquees is a good idea cos of the noise n those early birds getting up n going for a cuppa
I agree that we could've done with a blue loo at the top end of the field (ladies n gents one)
I have no gripes what so ever n think everyone who organized it did damn well
