sorry but I've got a td4 but was wondering would something like a decent injector cleaner assist in improving ur emissions

or maybe something like a good engine tune up via a dyno maybe assist in identifying the problem in order u can get it through the mot

sorry but just small ideas, know there are many others on here that have far more experiance than i and just thinking out loud

would a leak back test on the injectors show anything

are all ur vacuum hoses ok , isn't there an air intake sensor ??

cat convertor

do u know what the readings are plse

hope u get it all sorted mate

never got print out but at rev it was below 0,2 pass,on idle was something like 1,2 fail

is there any smoke being produced on tickover

assume all the air filter etc etc has been done

wonder if maybe an injector is letting by on tickover, don't know if a good injector cleaner may help or getting it onto a dyno

no smoke
i may have to look at some injector cleaner ,but no dyno round here

my code reader has packed in too so cant have a look as my engine warning came on other day so most be a code stored

maybe getting the ohms readings for ur sensors and using a multimeter see what they are

sorry but don't know these engines but just trying to think of general things

hope u don't mind me asking have u done a search on here to see if any thing comes up

so did you take it for a damm good bladt before the mot i mean a foot down hard ride if an auto put it in 3 and run up the motorway and back a few miles that will do more for cleaning it out than anything else

Nodge is the man for this.

Isn't there 3 O2 sensors on the V6?, so one maybe playing up?.

Yes 3 cats in total. There are 2 pre-cats, 1 in each manifold and a main cat under the car. There are 3 O2 sensors too. 1 in each manifold for mixture monitoring and one after the main cat used for emission monitoring.

Make sure the air filter is clean, if not, remove it for a re-test. The filter needs changing every 12K miles but the service interval is something like 36K miles.

I've a kv6 to swap engine on, fancy listing parts worth money to flog on:D
