What should I be looking for when buying

I'm thinking of getting a Freelander as a winter runabout, what should I be looking for when buying. I know a fair bit about Defenders but not a clue about Freelander. I'm looking for a TD4 about 2002 to 2004. Do they rust up like a Discovery?

Bodywork rust not too much of an issue on Freelanders

Underneath, check the condition of the fuel tank cradle for rot.

from my experience if it says freelander on the motor then steer well clear...just spent ANOTHER day lying under mine fixing stuff!

I've seen a few with rust holes hidden behind the spare wheel as well.
I think they must get a build-up of leaves or mud which retains the moisture there.
Not really that common but worth a check.
