Flex plate done no where near as bad a job as made out. A garage just done one in 8hrs and i was 10 on my own no ramps or airtools apart from not getting the handbrake clipped back on jobs a guddun out in her now love it

I know only had it sat 4month haha hope with a proper battery connection and a live on window pack rubbed thru and was caught in handbrake mabye wont drain battery and all windows work as they should and dimmer for box lights and rf things unpluged now no remote locking what so ever lol. It doesn't register park it thinks its in reverse and in 1st it says 2nd but dosent go into 2nd so not sure on that but happy as can be appreciated the help on here too thanks folks

Why did you not add your other thread here instead of starting a new one which could be interlinked? Did you get XYZ switch back in the correct place. What damage to loom?

Sorry wammers not so clever when it comes to posting threads n so on. How do i do that? The xyz is the yellow bit behind the lever arm on box? How do i adjust the xyz sensor?

Look in RAVE for details. You can't just whip it off and slap it back. Don't work that way.

What was the space like when doing your flex plate? a few folks on here myself included are looking at having them done it would be good if you could give us a bit of an idea how you did it :)

Remove gearbox and torque converter. Remove flex plate. Refit new, refit gearbox and torque converter. Hows that? :D:D:D

He said he didnt use ramps or anything so wondered if he actually took the lot out or moved it back etc...

Car will need lifting if you want to get box and transfer box out. Moving it back supported is an option. But car still needs lifting for access. Trying it with suspension set high would be a fools game. And difficult unless you are a midget.

It was a complete bugger really 2 bricks under each back wheel. Its on 1in higher coils. So was sat high enough for me to near sit under anyway Left front end down props chassis member off. Bottle jack under sump of engine then trolly jack and a small sheet of 3/4 ply on bolts and a ratchet strap over it moved the box back about 4in clearance between box and the spacer. Im only 5ft10 and built like a pole so was able to squeeze in. Then jack box up and make sure its going square on i got one pic of box underneath

And it all worked out ok for you? no issues so far? what made you need to change it? had it cracked or were you getting vibration?

It had shatterd had put a hole in bellhousing. Thats why i got her. 400 for her with mot till june was my father in laws where i live. Was 50 odd for plate 60 in oils 100 for a 2nd hand box but good bellhousing used that. then 1800 on insurance haha. No issues went into aberdeen and back last night 100 mile round trip no loss of oils or new leaks. Good creep all gears work well after reading horror stories about converter seals f'ing up it went well. Id have struggled more if i wasnt so skinny or nimble. Or if had air suspension i can imagine its a nightmare. Read a workshop manual a fair few times says upto 99 and 99 onwards two different bits and ways mine wad 99 onwards way even though its a 96

Ahhh i remember your post on that sorry mate. im impressed that you did it on your back tho... and you say 10 hours start to finish?

10 hrs non stop no tea or fag break hard fiddley but with no motor and about 4week till i have a day off it had to be done in a day lol my bro gave a hand with jack and then just me flat out laying across engine bay and allsorts if it had eas and had to jack it right up and if bell housing hadnt been broke before itd taken a lot longer

Probs 12 tbh i had it easy to come apart id say an extra hr just on removal of plate. It had a new lump 35k ago and haf new probs so 90% of it wasnt rotten with stiff bolts or half rounded bolts 12+ id recommend i was quite lucky

Had a little play out in her last night few rocky bits and rough bouncy hills 20inch of water slippery mud. All good except Low range wont engage but did before i took her apart so a little adjustment needed underneath all gears are about 10mm off what they should be like drive is between drive and 3 if u know what i mean drove over yhe hill by the g/fs house too
