Need to go under and adjust the cable too. After work and horses just finished at horses. Its cold wet and pitch black by time i usually finish. Few sweeps to go do to keep me going till about 8ish two fittings this week too so probs Saturday il get a full day doing heaps of niggley bits and a new tyre alternater belt and tensioner glowplugs. can get my bro to sit in her and move gear stick while line cable up and switch up.

Just put diesel in went from p to 1 all light up on indicator just 1 needs a swift movement so tighten cable slightly if all selected and showed up okay xyz is in right place wammers? And just cables slightly off? If there's not a puddle when i get home il have a go at nipping the cable up a touch

Im chuffed 22mpg few niggles to keep me busy on a day off and to think i wanted a manual td5 disco...... LOL proof its worth listing to the missus haha

Still keep reaching for a gear stick when slowing down and feeling for a clutch pedal. Keep expecting the foot resy to move haha

Why would the cable need adjusting? The gear lever position is set first. Then the XYZ switch position. Only then is the attachment lever connector screwed in or out to position it correctly in lever. If you did not move attachment lever then it is the XYZ switch that is out of position. Remove cable connector from lever. Move lever fully clockwise to engage park. Move back two detents to neutral position. With someone sat in car ignition on ENGINE NOT RUNNING gear lever in neutral. Undo pinch bolts on XYZ switch, turn switch until advised neutral light is on with N displayed on message centre, tighten pinch bolts. If needed adjust connector on cable until it slips into lever secure connector. Job done.

Reason i say that dude is my park wasnt inline with park its was between reverse and park about 10mm from top of gate run. My neutral the center of my stick was not inline to go across to low. my d in d gear engaged sat between 3 and d. Got my father in law to lay undet and show what he adjusted when the prop failed and had bent everything i straigtend lever arm out and refitted when i did gearbox. Turned the lock nut and he turned it 1 way or another and a washer where the split pin holds the cable in and all good 1st to park all light up and are engaged inline with the panel. Goes across into low.

Il put a couple of pics on later and try explain a bit better i havent got the rangie today missus needed it to tow for a horse lesson in a frontera again yukkk

Got one of my front windows rewired properly insted of the other switches someone stuck in. 1 more to do. And got to do. the front washers on the proper button and get the rear wiper working then all electronic stuffs spot on. Did a new bit of fuel pipe just before filter. Started 1st turn and heat of plugs and when hot 3/4 turns of engine. Normal enough for one of these? All gears now high and low now working. Sunroof wont set though. Did full open held it then shut and held it. Then tilt and hold and shut and hold still saying not set. Motor factors now have sitting for me glowplugs. gearbox & engine oils & filters. Alternator belt and tensioner. A track arm. And anti roll bar bushes. Hopefully over the next week or two time and weather dependent i should have the old girl not needing anything for a while
