My RR has been off the road for quite a few months and the battery died, popped a new one in and had to enter the EKA code. Now the FOB won't lock the doors but if I have the driver door open and manually put the lock down (it locks all doors) the FOB will unlock them, just not lock.

Also if I manually lock the driver door then shut it as soon as it shuts the lock pops open again, so I can't leave the car locked (can't use key to lock as the rod that connects the barrel to the lock mechanism is currently broken).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Pure guesses here just t throw some ideas around.

From inside lock driver's door, climb in the back, unlock and climb out then relock and shut? You are sure the fob unlocks?!

Alternatively, you could try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and see if it resets. Only other thought is clean up the microswwitches on the actuator on the driver's door and fix the rod while you're about it!

I would get this fixed first, then you can at least lock it with the key till you figure out the fob issue.;)

Will try your suggestions tomorrow, cheers :)

Anyone know where I can get that rod that connects the barrel to the locking mechanism? The rod itself is actually fine, it's the clip that connects it to the barrel part that snapped, can't see how to replace that bit myself, can't get to a welder to fabricate something as it's currently sorned.

Call me daft but what's a shock washer? Do you have a link so I know what I'm looking at?

Cheers

I'm a dafty, figured out why it wouldn't lock but it would unlock off the fob.. I failed to noticed the ignition key in warning even tho it wasn't. A small spray of wd40 in the ignition barrel and all is good again.

Just need to figure out how to replace the clip that holds the rod to the key barrel on the door as its a special clip that allows the rod to move up and down as you turn the key.

Dont use wd40 on ignition barrel will gum it up, wd dry`s up clean with electrical cleaner then use grahite powder car places do itjust puff a bit into lock when its dry

Aye will get some graphite powder we just 2am and a ttemp fix so I could lock it for the night.

Can't drive the car anywhere so at a loss as to fixing the rod :(

Well done. Worth remembering that one. Just ordered 4 lots of graphite lock spray from a well known online bookstore, all delivered for a tenner.

Shock-washer is a washer but inside has little teeth that grip. Anyway, looks like you're sorted so no need now!
