Hi All,

I have a problem that I thought was fixed at the garage a few weeks ago along with a few other issues however it has just happened again!!!

I have the L322 Range Rover V8 and the battery has a drain and all of a sudden the alarm will go off.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks everyone.

What was the problem that was "fixed" ?

Didnt saint v8 have a battery drain traked down to headlight wipers not parking properly i may be wrong but it rings a bell

Yes battery was replaced at Kwikfit a couple of months ago. Prior to having all the bits done that I mentioned above.

I would check battery voltage first should be 12.5 V +/- switched off, engine running should be 14v+ before spending any money and go from there. But yes headlight levelling ECU can cause battery drain. Can whip the bottom of the A pillar off in passenger side check it isn't wet/damp :)

Without sounding a complete and utter idiot (maybe I am when I ask what I am about to ask) but I have no idea where the A Pillar passenger side is lol. Is there a picture of it anywhere online so I know what the hell I am looking for :). Thanks Mate

Regarding the battery voltage, I am going to take the battery back to Kwickfit tomorrow so they can test it and tell me whether the battery it holding its voltage it is knackered.

Not sure if it was saint, but I have heard it can be an issue!

The A pillar is the pillar that run down the side of the RR between front windows and windscreen (2 pillars, one either side, the wing mirrors are almost mounted onto them) B pillars are where the drivers/passengers seatbelts are mounted (stowed away), C pillars are where rear seat belts are mounted and so on if you get my drift.

I believe there is a bit of trim I the passenger side foot well at the bottom of the A pillar, the headlight ECZu is located behind that somewhere :)

You are a gentlemen. Thanks very much. I will let you know the outcome tomorrow and if it fixes it a box of the bubbly stuff will be on its way to you. :)

No probs, put your location in your profile somebody may be local to you and able to help you ;)

Wasn't me, but is a common issue....solution is to remove the wiper arms and cycle the motors wait for them to park and refit arms...

Final Stage Resistor is a common one too!!!

Headlamp leveling ECU can cause issues!

Thanks mate. I will try those. How do I "cycle the motors" I guess by engaging the windscreen wipers?
