Yes you can, you have every right to ask whatever you want.
Just don't be surprised if it doesn't sell, that's all.
Part of the problem is that D2 TD5's are now available readily at £1500 so it makes the simpler but older TDi less valuable, imo. In the last 4 months I bought a 1999 GS for £1240 and a 2000 ES for £1400. Both had good rear chassis.
As all who know both vehicles will acknowledge, TD5 is more powerful, smoother, better road car, equally good off-road and the BODY is less rust-inclined.
I reckon £800 is a reasonable price to be honest.
