From a nail

No idea where it happened, but the head had been driven through the tread and the pointy bit was sticking out of it.

Never seen that before!!!!!

I just hope itcan be repaired or about £120 down the drain:mad:

As long as it isn't the sidewall it should be repairable.

Had three nails in a month in August, one slow puncture, then two more. All different types of hardware.

Rear o/s a bit soft as I type.....

no. thats the beauty of it.
i ride a m-bike round london all day and pick up lots of nails and screws in my tires. normally i leave them in unless i start losing pressure.
if i do start losing pressure, i get the tool ready, whip the offending nail/screw out, then insert the tool with black sticky lace, 3 half turns and withdraw the tool until flush with the tyre surface and cut off with a stanley blade.
with practice you`ll lose minimal pressure and then can inflate your tyre to its correct pressure at your leisure.
