Got a bit stuck fitting the exhaust today.

I thought that I could fit a 300tdi downpipe, then TD5 centre and back box, but there are a couple of problems.

1) the back box is touching the ARB bracket

2) there is about 3" of sideways space between the downpipe and centre pipe so they won't join up

3) the bracket to join the down pipe to the centre pipe has a different distance between the bolts and bolt holes, so they won't fit together

Any help for any questions would be appreciated, I'm out of ideas :(

Why are you mixing and matching them? Do you have a 300TDi? 90?

Cause I have both a TD5 and tdi fuel tank, so I can't use a tdi one as the tank is where the back box is.

I read that I could just mix and match them, but this doesn't seem to be the case...

Fit what you can then get a pipe made to suit whatever won't fit. that or get the angle grinder & welder out.

The biggest problem is the bracket on the downpipe being a different width to the TD5 centre pipe. Can you get exhaust connector brackets that you can add on afterwards?

Good idea on the shorter bracket James.

In theory the back box should fit, as it is the same on a TD5

down pipe bracket cut in half and add some metal to extend it

in for updates as ive had problems with my rear box / pipe clearing the tyres interested note in the link about reversing the rubber mounts wish I knew before I plugged in angle grinder :D

The thing is though I have tried the mount both ways, one way it touches the tyre, the other way it touches the ARB/Tank bracket
